Everytime I restart Apache on our webserver, the same client always sends us an email saying the site is down, please fix it.
I just did this for about 30 seconds and in the comes the complaint. Is there some desktop ap that they can install to alert them when this happens? Or are they just being really anal and sitting there hitting refresh..?

I used to work for a broadband telecom provider in the 90's.
We had a program called whatsup gold that you could add IP addresses to and the program would ping the IP at whatever specified interval you wanted. Could be they are doing something like this.

But I'm only rebooting Apache, not the whole system, so the IP address should still respond to a ping.

you can make it go to domains also? Not sure just a suggestion.
