Nice work. The more recent stuff is way to similar to Mr Michael C. Place's style.
Rip? You decide.

(Jun 23 06, 03:57)I know nothing new. tDR and build have a very influencial style that alot of deigners aspire to. I just felt there were some more blatant rips on that site.
- chunkified0
omg not another TDR-type website and company...! get some originality and some new fonts...!!!

Im sure if you read the info on some of his work you will see rumbero states he is a fan of build.
rumbero has a fair share of non imcp influenced work.
just because mcp has used helvetica neue in an industrialised style it doesn't mean others cant.

It's a trend. There is no shame in following a wide spread trend. It is though, when you use a trend and claim you are the one who invented it.
The Designers Republic was obviously first, so everything else is just trendy :)

BROCKMANN WAS TEH FIRST.

Only Build can do what he does, I would think it comes to him effortlessly as it is his style, whereas anyone applying the same style just looks like a bad copy.
But who's to say that it wasn't MCP who is mainly responsible for the tDR house style, as he was there for a decade or so wasn't he?!

Same here, I love information graphics and structure, grids, modernism etc. But Build has a very distinctive style, you can tell a build job a mile off, I'm not saying that people shouldn't be inspired, I just think there is inspiration and just plain plagiarism.
- MrMackem0
true, i agree, but sometimes inflence and plagerism overlap.
back to rumbero, he states clarly his work is influenced by build, its not as he's shouting from the rooftops about his work being original and un influenced.

Okay. It's very funny to see such a thing on my work... :)
First, Concrete please read first before talking. The "Visaul addiction Evolution Scale" is a personnal work in tribute to MCP :
"Serie of 5 poster designed in tribute to Micheal C. Place. "Then as many said, Helvetica was used by many designers before MCP (he knows that, you should...)
I'm a big big fan of MCP's work (he also know that) so I don't have any problems with designing something inspired by his work, which is by the way unique.Last thing, if you browse my website you will see that 98% of my work is not influenced by his. And maybe in coincidence, we both love ITC Avant Garde Gothic... Such a shame.
Merci.
