Print question for you... can you apply matt laminate to an area of a page, or does it have to cover the whole thing? Like a spot UV, but matt.

Thank you. Now I just have to explain that to our client, who will then explain it to the Eastern-European printer we have no contact with, who will then nod their head, smile, and do something completely different.

TG, it needs to be proper glossy, so a spot UV on top would probably do it. But I think we're doing something different now anyway. Ho hum.

do you mean a spot varnish?

if you're talking about varnishes, use coated matte paper and apply a high gloss varnish everywhere but the spots you want matte.
its best to have a varnish allover anyways.. prevents fingerprints, gives extra snap.

Sounds like you're talking about spot varnish with a matte finish. You can specify what areas you want a matt finish by making a seperate page with just that area as an eps in the exact position. Let me know if you want me to be more specific.
