I'm trying to learn to do all of this stuff on a computer and free PSDs like this help me a lot more than books or tutorials.. I need to be more hands on and figure things out for myself.
Can you guys help me out and give me some links to more PSD files like this.
I'm really just trying to learn photoshop and this Onyro psd file has already answered a lot of questions for me.
Thanks.

Hey guys, sorry for the late responce, glad you all in general liked it, i'm quite interested that you actually call it an old style, i made this image in an attempt to combine the old 3d stff i did with the new floral/romantic style. We're busy trying to redesign the onyro website at the moment and i'm trying out different stuff, hence the progression to the romantic style and this exeriment. Sorry but i hardly ever name my layers, it the way i work intuitively, no time to name layers as i like to see the image grow as i mess arround. You might have noticed the url psds.onyro.com, i've got big plans for this section alongside posting ALL the oldschool stuff i'll be putting new stuff up as of when i get the time to jam. Flash wise we're still busy but working iwthin the greek market place is tough and not so many great clients, however we did help design and produce the latest Toyota Camry website for Enjoyuserexperience.com who at the moment are bashing out bucket loads of work for toyota, including all the new yaris banners. Anyway keep up the good vibe. more free stuff coming your way soon.

Just in case there is any confusion, Onryo is generously providing the source files of his work for free. For those of you who are not interested, that's fine, it's not for you. There is no reason to disprespect the quality of someone's work when they have good intentions. His work is intended for everyone else who will download it and learn from it. I would challenge those people who are unsatisfied with the level of work that Onryo is providing to contribute their own source files for us to learn from.

Much respect Onryo. Glad to see your not letting the kids get to you.

I think what I really like about this thread, even moreso than the psd file itself, is the most is the fact that Onryo didn't lose his cool even once while people tossed a little salt his direction. I'm still a big believer that everyone here in NT is entitled to their opinion, but yeah, sometimes it gets a little harsh. Personally, I kind of dig Onryo's work. Is it a style I'd emulate or use? Maybe not... I've never put this much detail or layering into any of my work, so I'm a little impressed by it. But don't think I haven't clicked through all the layers ;)

Thanks Point5, yeah i'm alway a bit OTT with layering stuff, not so much a beleiver in "more is more" but i do love my detail as do many other designers, style is a very personal issue and not everybody diggs everything, the main point is that there hasn't been any new style is quite a while, graphic design and our small world of digital abstracts has kinda of grind to a halt, most things are just repeats of something else, what i'm now interested in is trying to discover/create a new style thats unique and not been done before, much like the orignal digital abstract stuff a group of us were doing in 1999-2000, but this is a tough call, everything get consumed way too quick before it can become recognised. Anwyay let all try and figure out a cool new style, a new direction, be that a merge of the recent discovery within the online design community of the "digital matte painting" or romantic, or grungy dirty style of the fantastic style of house industries. We're all realy fresh out of ideas and need something new.... a new wave.
just gotta figure out what.
