Afternoon!
What is the best way of sending flash movies as an attachment to an email.
Is it better to send a single swf file, should it be .zipped? Is there a universal format that you can send attachments in an email?
Or can you call the movie into an email somehow?
Any ideas or pointers would be welcome

flash will only play in an email in mac mail and outlook (with a security warning) on a pc, no other client, including all web-based, will play flash in an email.
zipping and attaching would probably be the most consistent method

exporting as a flash projector is also a possibility.

don't most email programs block .exe's? So a projector might not be ideal
Make it an html email with a link. Having them unzip and launch might be too much for some people. I'd rather just click and watch

click and watch is really the only way to fly right now. all email prog will see your flash as a virus.

wait, are you just trying to send someone a swf, or is this a newsletter kinda thing?

...thanks for the suggestions ;)
it is for a mailing to potential clients - so more newsletter than "here you go have a look at this" sort of thing.
I have just attached a html doc to the email that launches the swf online when clicked.
Seems okay - although I haven't actually sent it yet - so any more pointers would be good

the embed/object code to embed the swf way start a few mail filter alarm bells ringing too..
+ exe's are blocked by loads of mail apps/filters (gmail included)
Your best bet is a static multipart email that creatively links in to your flash content online.
headache free.
