It has come to my attention that I need to some type setting skills! (see rejected thread)
Can anyone recommend a good course or book?

get 'The elements of typographic style' by robert bringhurst.
If you read that book and take it all in, you'll be a good typographer.

also check out Jan Tschichold, he's my favourite typographer. Not only did he write 'The New Typography' which set out the style of Modernist typography and is still essentially followed by most. He later in his life denounced modernism and studied classical centred typography which he was also a master at.
Athony Frauhaug is another guy to study.

Go buy two copies of a book about Herb Lubalin.
