how is it?
I used to love them, then became incredibly sick of them

same here, rand. although i was never completely sold on loving them.

at first I only liked the instrumentals and thought the MOR 70's vocals were hokey, then I began to see the vocals as part of a sonic landscape formally removed from original context, the whole had a pleasant timeless (in the sense But I had too few iTunes in those years, and they got played too often, like Air, like Kid Loco, like Bonobo, like all of them

I've since moved on to death metal
- Rand0
my post got scrambled--please ignore it and move on to death metal with uber

wow... same bands... same occurance of bordedom, rand...
... especially z7 and Air... I was such a silly girl for them... then I think I went and played them too much.

the new album is odd in a nice way, but still carries the instrumental that you are referring to rand.

The best song is "Thistles" and it's a bonus track.

anyone wanna post it? :)
i mean... for 'demo' purposes only - be sure to have a disclaimer that says "you may not download these mp3's... enjoy!".

It's really weird.
The Jose Gonzalez stuff is nice. There are some tracks I like, but on the whole it's not really strong, but nice to see them moving in a different direction.
They still have their sound.

i didn't realize they had a new one out. thanks for the tip.
i played them out too much along with air while at work. i got sick of it. hopefully the dude doesn't sing on a lot of this new CD.

(Jun 11 06, 10:28)i have the same.
in the beginning you will listen to them over and over again, then you just throw them out and can't hear it again.
i had the same experience.
probably because it is so drenched in melancholy an' that..

speed dial no. 2
- MLP0
i'm downloading this now... it sounds like they're trying to sound more like air's current stuff. much more electronic. sounds like her voice is getting less soulful, which i don't know if i can handle.
- Crouwel0
anyway, i am moving into another rock period again.. i had enough of most of my fave (electronic) bands.
today i really enjoyed listening to The Doors again.
strange..and then it is not.
- Rand0
I've really been enjoying the doors lately as well, especially stuff I used to not like, such as "love street"
- MLP0
the doors have been one of the few bands that i've never stopped listening to. esp. waiting for the sun and morrison hotel
- nooner0
they are amazing no doubt, but i get tired of them just like anyone else.
don't really know of one band that i wouldn't get sick of listening to.
