What's the best method of reducing the file sizes of Quicktime for the web please?

.mov files yeah?.
If so reduce the quality of the video track this is a huge reduction in file size you will find it under limit data rate to(....kbs) this dramatically reduces file size however with this reduction in file size you will also get a huge hit in quality.

ya! or some applications have the same settings what program is your movie file coming from home slice?.

its from a client as a .mov

Then I would suggest you pop it into Qtimepro and do it that way, unless you have other compression software but by the sounds of your post you don't have any.......
