Hello!
does anyone know how to achieve the overblown/ extra bright look like in the photo on this page? It's really well done.

Medium Format Camera - Maybe an Hassenblad or Mimya and some third party filters. I know NIK filters has some cool effects for film - similar to magic bullet filter used in after effect to achive film look.

I know what you mean, it may be that there's less colour in the photographs, because they look muted it inversley looks saturated (?). Try duplicating your layer, desaturate it, change the opacity to say 40% and multiply.
