Is it just me or do famous studios, that I look up to, not actually generate much personal wealth?
For example, it seems people like Michael C. Place and Universal Everything (http://www.apple.com/pro/profil... Have quite modest houses and lifestyles.
Basically, do I need to become a Stock broker to earn well?

True.
What I said is only an interpretation of what I have seen.
I guess I'm just putting out feelers for fellow designers that earn well and live comfortabley.
I'm not talking bling. If I collect anything it will be books and ltd edition posters!

I don't imagine there are many independent designers earning a huge amount.
Peter Saville is hugely famous but hasn't made nearly as much money as his reputation may suggest (or so I've heard)

Agency owners make big $$, their designers don't. So the designers go freelance to take over the world and make big $$$, but never do.
