tool freeze in photoshopCS

ok I am having a realllly bad day,
and its just not my hair.Now, in photoshop, whenever the eyedropper tool is selected I can't get out of it - nor will it do anything - nothing responds.
will somebody help me, please????

is this a legit pirated copy of photoshop, a good pirated copy, or the real thing?

New document -just made a marque ...
then choose eyedropper-
I had to force quitRestarted
opend an existing psd. file -
went to eyedropper again - same thing.I know -
don't use the eyeropper

So, after looking at the alternatives I actually began "reading" about going back to defualt preferences- so, deleted Photoshop Settings file when launching - now its perfect
