I went in 2003 San Diego. Be sure to check out the Emerging Technologies, this is basically like a travelling road show of MIT media lab projects. Of course, get your tickets for the Electronic Theater early since they sell out. The expo floor is pretty standard... so you can just swing in a few times and pick up the free ATI t-shirts and such. Make sure to spend time going to the interesting papers sessions (in-depth on specific topics). Lastly, don't miss out on the panels ... they usually do 2 big ones, (George Lucas was there for one of them).
Enjoy and see you there!

Yeah I was thinking about going also, although I have more of a interactive 3D focus.
Would this conference be useful to me?
