what is scale? if you don't set it somewhere it cannot do anything.
Use trace(scale) to find out what it equals too. * put the trace before the if inside the function()
trace is your friend, it will help you figure this all out.

you will need to tell flash what you are scaling. ie. myMc._y or this._y.
And yes, what is your if statement for? Where are you setting the scale flag?
- skt0
and it's "_yscale" not "_y". if you want to scale it. "_y" is just it's vertical position.

i want trace to be my friend, but how does it work ?
i type trace(
then i get message
i type scale)
nothing happens
the _y is indeed for the vertical position but first it needs to be scaled. how can i trace it?

ok i got it:
i get a whole lot of 0's in the output window and when i roll over the button they become 1's

yeah, trace(); is goot for getting information. so if you want to know the location of myBtn you could do trace(myBtn._y +" : "+ myBtn._x)
Will trace in the output window: 22 : -36 or something like that
i use it to debug stuff. comes in handy.
If your gettin a bunch of 0's repeating then you must have an onEnterFrame I'm not a big fan of that, to processor instensive.
