i'm working on a stop-motion piece and just shot a sequence in reverse order. does anyone know how to set up an action to rename a batch but in descending order, like file 1.jpg would become 0500.jpg, file 2.jpg -> 0499.jpg, etc? i can't seem to figure out a way to do this without having to rename all the images one-by-one. which would take hours. any help? am i overlooking something really easy/obvious?
thanks in advance, duders.

why not load them into quicktime or something else and have it merged to a movie in reverse and then reverse the whole movie? or is this silly?
other then that, i know there's an app that handles stuff liuke this (mac) but i totally forgot the name, have you checked versiontracker? do a search with some keywords like file and rename etc...

Imo, you're better off worrying about filenames / directory structures outwith Photoshop.
Depending on your system, try and look in tucows (what.ev.a) for Filename Batch Utilities (etc)..

thanks, but i've just reversed my sequence in final cut. not exactly what i was looking for as i'd like to have the original file names reversed but this will work.
nairn, that app looks nice, too bad it's not for mac:(

ha-hah! i actually got it to work messing around w/ Adobe Bridge. i just unchecked ascending order then did a simple batch rename and bam, done.
