wondering if you kind NT folks can help me out...
id like to send email using networks other than my own. however, my issue is that the port i am currently using at home is not accesible through the few random networks that ive tried...
is there an email client that will scan multiple ports?
or do i have to use the "trial and error" method to find one suitible port that will work with my fav networks as well as my own.thanks

more details?
are you just trying to use a remote SMTP server or something else?...if so I dont think its got anything to do with your home ports as its just outgoing traffic to the remote port..(but I'm not real sure)...

ribit-unsure what your asking...
im currently using mac "mail" client to recieve/send mail (POP). The current port settings work fine at home, but when I use wifi hotspots away from home my smtp port times out and im unable to send email (though im still able to recieve them...)
anyhow.. i think ive found a solution: I set up a gmail account and used gmail's smtp server to send outgoing email and used the "reply-to" feature on gmail to point to my current email address.
seems to work flawlessly...
