You can do whatever you want with your portfolio. I was responding to Engage's original post:
i like it... i tihkn we'll see more and more of people using flikr, blogger, and google images to present their stuff, no need to keep reinventing the wheel

but again... Are you showing your work or the interface? so many peoples sites look like web designers rather than whoever they may be!

your work is beyond that portfolio setup, i guess i should have said this sooner, i'd like to see something more original from someone of your skill set is all
maybe i'm just greedy though ;)
but as far as using something repurposefully, that can be done right and wrong and in this case stewdio, i think you chose wrong
it's like using a toothbrush to mop a kitchen floor
yeah you could scrub it clean, but in 4 hours all you'd have is a floor that will be dirty tomorrow and a back ache
maybe for my portfolio i will take a pic of the kbi molestation board for the most wanted child molestors and repurpose it by putting screenshots of my work over the faces
not every idea is a good one
like marketing, if you have to explain the strategy, it isn't working

People can use simple interfaces if they wish. I just like getting a bit creative with my layout. I do use simple ones though, which you can see if you visit my site. I just think the interface definitely has something to do with if you wish to continue viewing their work. Maybe. It sort of annoys me that the work is repeated multiple times in stewdio's Google Portfolio, but I guess with time and work this can be modified.

They are really awesome. I like their new "Live it Out" even better than "Old World..." but I seem to be in the minority. What do you think?

I like them about the same. My favourite song, Dead Disco, is just too awesome and the rest of the cd was great. Live It Out just had a different level to it since the band had just moved back from the USA (they left because of Bush, I'm sure you know) and it was done in Toronto. I think they've matured a bit, but basically look at culture in a similar manner.
Now I'm just rambling :P
