so I am going to spend plenty of time in heathrow(23 hours). I am curious if there is free wifi at the airport, also I am curious if there is I can plug my laptop. I don't want to spend my whole time going drunk.

why not hit the city instead, it's not that far from the airport

Yeah I actually have the blueprints to heathrow in front of me right now.
Give me a minute and I will tell you where every power point and wifi spot is...

well the reason I cannot hit the city is I don't have a proper VISA, so they simply don't allow me to do that. The last time I was in london, it was 1998 summer, I am dying to see it again and it is so sad I cannot get in when I am so close.
damn.

I can just imagine that in a place where you have thousands of bored people sitting around with laptops that they will provide free wifi rather than make a killing off it, that's the thing i love about people. So giving.

one risk I am taking is, I am coming from NYC and going to IStanbul, my friends told me I need a transit visa to do that, I said screw it I have an F1 visa(US student). basically I don't know what is going to happen. I hope I can make it. what could happen? Do they put me in jail when they ask where my transit visa is and I say screwed it.

they probe you first (inside and out) then take you to a holding house
have you seen hostel yet?

Dancer: I posted it in a lousy timezone for british so I thought it was long gone in archives. thanks for the headsup.

honestly only I am afraid they send me back to here, NYC. that would be nasty. all these things that I did for saving 500 bucks for the ticket and they are sending me back here. I hope not.

It'll cost you not so far from $400 so you could spend the remaining $100 on overpriced coffee and bagel.

they sell absinthe there, get some sugarcubes and have a time.
