wow...this guy is true legend..i grew up listening to him coz my dad was so much into him and other blues guys from the 60's and 70's.

yeah, his death is the saddest story ever. clapton should have been on that helicopter when it went down, not him.

No one should have been on that helicopter :) but I do agree with your implication that SRV was a far superior guitarist to Clapton, if that's what you're getting at.

(May 22 06, 13:27)well yes you are right mg33, no one should have been on that helicopter when it crashed... but SRV took Clapton's seat after the concert was over. so Clapton's manager died but Clapton went on another copter. strangely, very similiar to the death of another great texas musician buddy holly.

I was just listening to SRV about 10 minutes ago and then saw this thread. Legends always die young. sad.
