Hi,
I was contacted by a big NYC based agency for a DA job. I'm living in france, so I would like to know how much it's a regular salary for a DA in US.
thanks,

Around 50Gs...

ask for 85k

between 60-100k depending on how good you are and depending on the company.

Add an extra 20k for your French accent

I would say 50k in NYC is way low. My AD friends make around 80-95...Probably 80-100k.

yeah, depends on the size of the company: from $60k-$100k..

depends on what kind of work u do. are you a traditional, interactive, motion?
is it's for a global agency?
you should ask for a relocation package and all the extra.
- radiculture0
man, you guys need to start asking for more money....
- level2b0
whatchu think an AD in interative should make, radiculture? Around $100k is pretty decent..
- radiculture0
no, i agree around 100k sounds decent. but the lower end people were suggesting sounds crazy to me for NYC.

is this an art director position or a director's assistant position>?
- tiger0
So any of you guys actually make 100k or is it pretty much all talk? And if you claim to make that much, why the hell are you on here instead of working?
- level2b0
slow day. haha. I make around that much, I hate assholes that brag about how much they make though...
- radiculture0
yeah, i'm trying to talk about this without going off about how much money we all make.
but I know plenty of ADs who are getting that in Ohio... hence, my surprse that you can't get that in NYC.
- tkmeister0
as a freelance interactive ad, u can easily make 100k.
full time doesn't pay as much, but once u include 401k match and benefit, it's not as bad.
one thing to think about is that in nyc, there are always people who'll take your job for less money. it's just competitive and negotiation is really important.
- tkmeister0
you can make over 100k in ohio, doing what? working for limited brands?
- level2b0
I wanna find a place in Austin that pays as much as NYC..

Thanks a lot guys. Last question : 100K a year is enough for a good living in Living in NYC ? Where you can live with that ? Brooklyn, soho, chelsea, the village ?
Thanks
- level2b0
It's pretty decent. I live in Brooklyn, you get more space for your money. I moved from Texas though, you can have a sweet pad for $1,000 mo.
$1,000 in Manhattan won't get you a closet.

depends on the company. big company can be 100+ easy. smaller, boutique shop should be 75-100.
now, outside of a large, metro center, prices can drop considerably.
