Would anyone know whether or not the brand new 20" iMac can run )S 9 on it? We still use Quark 4.1 (as well as InDesign) 'cos Quark 5 & 6 suck balls...
Can anyone clarify whether or not OS 9 can run on the new ones?
Ta.

ummm os9 hasn't been able to run on anything for a long long time... classic maybe, os9 no no.
OS9 WTF?!?!

no, I don't think you can even run Classic on the intel macs.
I'd upgrade your software, or just wait and see what Quark 7 brings to the table.

4.1 ?

It's not that we don't use InDesign or can't use Quark 6 - it's a case of a number of our printers not having converted over to the high-res PDF system yet...
And Quark 6 sucks...
And Quark 7 costs far too much considering the fact that you can get the entire Creative Suite for under a grand...
But thank you all for your responses...

solution = stop using quark. it's ok i promise.

fucking printers dragging their heels as ever, it seems printers seem to think they can call all the shots, well fuggem that's what I say!

I totally agree & am well able to use both Quark & InDesign but it is the printers that are stopping us from switching over... perhaps this will signal the end of the reign of Quark... or the reign of the printers?!

well until you put up the 2.3 million for an 8 color mitsubishi press, they are going to be around for a little while.
