... 4 years in prison for nightclub fire...

i am neutral here.
there's no point in trying to shove suffering on the shoulders of someone else.
i can well imagine this man is taking full responsibility for this and suffers the haunting guilt for the rest of his life.
no need to capitalize on it by institutional punishment.
good to see there's some common sense overruling emotionally outraged conviction.
imho.

why is he going to prison it was an accident ? its not like he did it on purpose? i cant understand the familys being made but i dont see how someone can go to prison for something they didnt intend to do more of a technical problem or did i not read it well

you could also blame that there wasnt a good exit in the building...
yeah offcourse hes gonna suffer in his head more then he would suffer having 20 years in jail since hes not some murderer who thinks of chilling people but i still dont see how he could get jail for a technical problem

when this story came back up recently, I guess I had just forgotten about it, but I was shocked that that many people died. I had gotten it confused with that nightclub stampede here in Chicago where like 19 people died.
Fucking unreal - and I agree, the worse punishment is something he has lived each day since then. Not really sure if jail time is right or not. Personally, I think I'd probably want to die myself.

that is alot of people i agree and if i was a family member of one of the victims id prob want him to go to jail out of angre. but this could be blamed on the night club as much as him they installed some foam didnt they know it would be flameable didnt they know they would have pyro inside the club... i guess they didnt think much of it... hes a victim as much as anyone else in that event hes pretty much a walking dead man that kinda shit can paralize the mind where he feels in his dead like hes dead . its kidna good he got jail if you tihnk about it if not he might have commited suicide or something cause that kinda headache is hard to deal with

unreal! lots of animals get less than 4 years for rape, murder etc... the nightclub fire wasnt murder!

sounds like a ridiculous sentence for what was basically an accident, no malice or intent there, these peoples hatred is misguided and ultimately; only leading to bitterness and resultant ill health.
a tragedy on all parts, no need for silly jail terms though.
