When I save image from photoshop and view it in a browser, its color differs from the ps original. I used ot get that in the old days and then got by switching color management off fully. I am working in PS2 now and it doesn't seem to have that option anymore. Any hints as to how to handle this?
I don't (and won't) do any print work, so color profiles are nothing but a problem for me.

Stop playing PS2 and figure out what's up with your damn colors...

i noticed a similar problem doing some web-work in CS2. the color in the PS file differs from its corresponding html color (at least when viewed from a PC). However i didn't have this problem working in CS1. i hope their not trying to tell me to use "web-safe" colors...

Make sure your color profile is converted to sRGB (don't use Adobe 1998).
You can change the profile in the Edit menu in CS2. Then Save For Web, and you'll notice correct color.

sRGB was the profile I've had deuce, but thanks. You gave me a hint that led to changing windows color management profile from my monitor's to sRGB. Now it's working just fine and when I make a screenshot of a color in photoshop next to the same image in explorer and paste it into photoshop, eyedropper shows the same (and correct) values on both.
