corporate online advertising and its relationship to technological expression in a post modern era
why did i get into this business

what you just said makes no sense.
are you trying to be deep or something?
- cafloppy0
I don't accept that we live in a post-modern era.

i think it makes sense. im not trying to be deep. just reating to my current job scenario

I have a feeling that most people who use the term "post-modern" don't really know what they are talking about.

we live in a modern post-it era. them things come in all different shapes and colors these days. even different levels of sticky.

it's not even a statement or idea or opinion
there's nothing there
if you want a conversation, make a point that we can actually discuss instead of just smashing together big words you overheard into a sentence fragment

i wanted to start a conversation..maybe you should go back to school if you dont get the idea

this thread is very post-modern.

Gruntt, I might as well hijack this thread since its not going anywhere.
How's asheville, NC? My parents are thinking about retiring down there in a few years. They visited and seemed to really like it (which is all that really counts), but hows life down there for younger people.

well...im sitting here banging out pharma banner after pharma banner..stayed at work till 11 pm last night making production edits. nobody here cares about snagging kewl clients or using interactive technology to its maximum potential..the fat cats here just keep getting fatter. Im wondering why i sold out to the man and how i can redeem myself....blah blah blah..i guess i should have noted that i was talking about corporate pharma advertising

cafloppy - i personally love this town. small town with all the things that i look for in a big city. great restaurants, lots of live music, strong artist community, liberal politics. and if you drive for 10 minutes up into the mountains you can be a million miles from anyone. i love it. lots of retirees seem to be coming in which is driving up the house prices (bunch of hippies bitching about that at the moment). i just bought a house so it's fine with me if the prices go up. good place.

Gruntt, They told me that the prices are getting up there on account of the influx of retirees. As a result, they would probably move to the outskirts of town (or just outside of) as they don't want to necessarily add to the inceased cost of housing and more importantly, they probably can't afford it. That's one of the reasons they want to move away from NYC to begin with.

cafloppy - the outskirts of town are getting up there in price too, i'm afraid. hard to tell what will happen by the time they're ready to move here so tell them to keep they're mind opened to other places would be my advice. it's a great place if they can get here though. good luck.
