Clerks II is really good, and this is coming from someone who worshipped the first movie, went to the same high school as kevin smith, and grew up about 1.5 miles from the store where the original was shot.
go see it for yourself.

it is just a stupid comedy movie, goddamn. just enjoy it for what it is.

the first one sucked anyways, what could you possibly expect, now a Mallrats II, that'd be dope...

Jason Mewes and "Goodbye Horses" will forever be linked.

Really? I wasn't impressed. Had some funny moments, but definitely didn't need to be made. There were a few really good scenes, but I really wasn't impressed.
Although, I wouldn't ask for my money back. They 10,000 myspace names at the end of the credits was a nice touch, and I saw it at the Arclight in LA (great theater) and as soon as the credits ended, Kevin and Elias came out for a Q & A session. That was worth it.

Saw it friday. It's not "great", but it has definite funny moments (Randall goes off on the Rings trilogy) and it has what every Kevin Smith movie has, a tender moment between a common dude and his perfect girl that is the IDEAL perfect moment between those two. Unrealistic, but ideal and touching nonetheless.
Other than that, it ranks above Jersey Girl but below Strike Back on my overall Kevin Smith list.

friend of mine went to a pre-screening last week.
he loved it!!! also said there was a hella lot of Transformers: Live Action Movie references thru-out the whole movie.

I never thought the original was anything to write home about. I sort of half-laughed, that kinda frown-giggle that could also be misconstrued for crying a little bit.

Yea jevad, there is so much backstory to Clerks outside of the actual movie which was such a fresh and eloquently gortesque take on comedy.
It really made the movie an icon of its time.
They can't improve on it in my mind. It'd be impossible.
I'd much rather they just called this something else, and not try to necessarily tie the two movies together. :X

Eh, I was supposed to on Saturday but plans fell through ... due to me being an absolute moron.
However, from people I've talked to that have seen it - have said it's great.
However ... almost every single person that saw it, NEVER SAW CLERKS!!!
Which I think is 'blasphemy', but they all said that they are immediately renting/buying the original based on Clerks II.
Which I'm not sure what that means, but fuck it - I'm still going to see it.
Noise, noise, noise.

see...clerks worked because it was cut in B&W...was witty...had soul..and was an independent movie with a great script.
This looks absolute bollocks

i saw it yesterday, it was funny and i laughed a lot. the story line was a little thin, but overall i'd say rock it.
