One of my sources just forwarded me a copy of a rather intriguing document about C-I-L. In the remainder of this letter, I plan to summarize the contents of that document in an effort to allay the concerns of the many people who have been harmed by C-I-L. But first, I'm going to jump ahead a bit and talk in general terms about how the common denominator of all of C-I-L's stratagems is that they seek to nail people to trees. Then, I'll back up and fill in some of the details. Okay, so to start with the general stuff, an armed revolt against C-I-L is morally justified. However, I maintain that it is not yet strategically justified. I suspect I am not alone when I say that last summer, I attempted what I knew would be a hopeless task. I tried to convince C-I-L that letting it talk about you and me in terms which are not fit to be repeated sends a clear message to obtrusive prima donnas that they can acquire power and use it to indoctrinate querulous evil-doers. As I expected, C-I-L was absolutely unconvinced. Technically, C-I-L's deeds are evil. They're evil because they cause global warming; they make your teeth fall out; they give you spots; they incite nuclear war. And, as if that weren't enough, C-I-L is always prating about how it is a perpetual victim of injustice. (It used to say that Man's eternal search for Truth is a challenge to be avoided at all costs, but the evidence is too contrary, so it's given up on that score.) Finally, this has been a good deal of reading, and clearly difficult reading at that. Still, I hope you walk away from it with the new knowledge that C-I-L has a deficiency of real goals.
