Civil Netizen is an innovative file transfer program designed to simplify the way you send and receive your digital content with 100% privacy. No longer will you have to deal with the hassle of setting up FTP servers, shared drives, hosting accounts, large email attachments, or 3rd party websites.
Now available for Mac OS X and Windows.

sounds cool liquid, but why wouldn't i just use skype for all this same thing? i mean, if i didn;t already have it, this would be a good choice. but i do, so what does this offer it does not?

The comparisons are similar to pando and dropsend.
Privacy is a big thing with Netizen. With dropsend when someone picks up the file there is a trail a mile long. Pando also keeps track. This is direct p2p.
There are a lot of things different. Such as the ability to pickup files at a later time. Its not like IM transfer. This is good if you were to send a file to a client to pickup later. Also, sending files of a really large size is not a problem. there is also the ability to reconnect if the transfer drops. After a certain file size.. transfer that isn't ftp becomes a big issue.
There are tons of benefits. Keep reading the site and you can see what I mean.

Has anyone tried it yet?

bump for the other half of the planet... looking for some feedback positive or negative...
if you take a closer look we aren't like pando, dropsend, streamload, or any other file sharing software available.

thanks....
we are based on firefox 1.0.7 right now.... only support for powerpc..... we are moving to firefox 1.5 next, that support universal binaries...we are following firefox release schedule, probably about 1-2 months behind
the whole app is basically a firefox browser on steroids and all of the switching around etc is all ajax/dhtml/css/javascript
netizen is a XUL app written in javascript that sit on top of Firefox plus, a custom p2p networking layer underneath

Does anyone here use any of the other popular file sharing p2p online programs, apps, websites?
I would be interested in hearing your reviews. Especially on dropsend and pando.
