give the Animal Collective a call and see if they'll join you for campfire sing-a-longs.
that'd be swell.

do you people prefer the floor or an air matress?

Hey Shari, remember when I told you about that book I had to read last year about the woman who has a sexual relationship with a bear?

if you're buying new gear a Thermarestâ„¢ is a good investment.

yes i do remember that. you described what i thought to be a male teacher reading a passage out loud to the class and i kept thinking omg what a perv but then discovered it was a lady.
then i thought. omg what a perv.

yeah if you do any backpacking a Thermarest is essential because some of them pack down to almost nothing... i used to squeeze mine down to about the same as a bottle of water.

(Apr 25 06, 12:03)Fuck no, unless you're a caveman. Technology has come a long way. I have a slim Thermarest for backpacking and this for luxurt car camping, it's the shit: http://www.rei.com/online/store/…

One time two buddies and I decided to go camping along the
Withlachootchie River here in south Florida. We rented a canoe and set off down the river to find a place to camp. It was a nine mile row down river the next day so we stoped after about a mile. That night it rained like the world was ending. I didn't get a wink of sleep and the next morning all the fire-wood was soaked but we still managed a fire and breakfast, but that was one long paddle back after no sleep. It was still fun though. We found out after we got home that the weekend we went happened to be the height of aligator mating season. Oh and our campsite was basically a little island. We would have been goners if any gators had felt frisky.

oh, I thought you were asking for stories. Now I'm the only jerk who told one. That's what I get for not reading the comments before I post.

You should bring a cast-iron pan. Nothing is better than a meal cooked over an open fire...and by meal, I don't mean hot-dogs...pack some real food. Okay, maybe tent sessions are better than the food.
