Here's the story...
The company's name is VBA PROFESSIONALS. They do raw data processing... simply put they take lots of spreadsheets, and transform them into nice looking graphs and charts. The client wanted something elegant, professional, and(!) preferably incorporated with a graph or a pie chart.
We went through at least 3 versions, and they all didn't work. Either too bold or toy-like, etc...
I was pretty exhausted with this project, and felt pretty hopeless...
Today i decided to finish it and came up with an idea (very simple one), that incorporates a pie-chart and looks fairly elegant...
Please look at it and let me know what you think.
Let me know which one is better, if any. Any comments, suggestions, are welcomed.
Thanks for reading it.

good start. i would lock up specialists under the A in VBA. it sticks out to much. works well in b&w too.

mrbee, thanks!
i made an update... u think it looks better? something doesnt feel right this way.

I like the concept. The style of it is not really blowing me away, but maybe that's to be expected in their line of work.

ukit, thanks!
Yeah, it's not the most creative company or project, it should be pretty simple, clean and professional looking. I found this font to work well with the concept, although i also feel that something could've been better. Any suggestions?

at a quick glace maybe try filling in the empty area of the pie graph with another colour, to make it look ore like a pie graph.
maybe...

Hiten, thanks!
Made an update... what do you think?P.S.
i like your work.

I think 1 line is better than 2 lines none of them works for me, sorry.

i dont know if it works i dont like the dark gray....so maybe thats why it doesn't work for me. I'd like to see it with a different colour...i like the blue and orange colour in google stats...but any nice bright 2 colours i think will work...
but then again it might not. thx for the compliment though. :)

also another thing which you might not have any control over why do they need the word specialist in the logo...i understand some companies have a word that describes there business incase people don't know but the word specialist doesn't really tell me anymore or less about what they do..you know? I wish I could thing of an example but im tired...

i got one hope i explain it clearly. theres a venue called PARAMOUNT and the logo says PARAMOUNT large with conference and event venue smaller to tell the people what it is. Many smaller businesses do this but in VBA SPECIALIST the word specialist doesnt tell me anything...again you might not have any say in this but i think that would make the logo stronger. Cause the V above the S makes things look shifted...hope that makes sense.

Hiten,
thanks a lot for you feedback!
I totally agree that the name is not very good, and i tried to convince the owner that it's too generic.
The thing is that if we take out SPECIALIST, then it only will be VBA, which is an abbreviation for Visual Basic for Applications...So, we do have to display the whole thing. Trust me, im really tired of doing this logo, and i just hope that the client is going to accept this new version.

Rushmore, thanks ;) Cool idea.
But probably won't work in this case.

seems like everyone immediately thought pie charts, i thought bar graphs.

something still doesnt look right, that other idea is cool but maybe add tracking to the word specialist maybe even something huge like 400 so it takes up more space then bring it back down in size to fit so the font size is smaller. that might work and align it to the left under the pie chart.

keep us updated, i like this project and want to see where you go with it.
