Why, in every Keanu movie, does he sit there like a tard, while others explain the plot of the movie to him?

I've been looking forward to this film for some time. I grew up watching Winona Ryder's biggest films and some part of me still believes she can redeem herself.
Quite honestly, I think Keanu is hot, and the rest of the cast is pretty cool too.
I was obsessed with him all throughout high school (yes, this was only 2-3 years ago) and it's all because of The Matrix.
I agree he can't act unless he's supposed to be stoic and bleh, but his looks get him somewhere. Kind of like a lot of female actresses out there...

looks awesome

of course it's custom made, but it's still basically an effing filter
it's still lame whatever you want to call it
it worked for waking life and now they're just trying to milk it.
adding keanu reeves to the mix just kicks the legs out from under whatever the film had going for it to begin with

it's only interesting because of the filter they ran it through
and that only goes so far...

ok scar.lol.

He's 99% right.

Shite, sorry but everything is at least a frame out, in my opinion, also look at the beginning bit when the lassie has the earphones on looking at the computer screen the earphones are again a frame out on the movement.
I will go see this movie and will probably enjoy it but only cause I like and scifi.

yawn.

i hate that style/filter
looks like those charles schwabb commercials which use this style/filter for no good reason
at all
kind of like this movie
does it add something to the movie?
not really
sin city was a similar-ish style/filter
but it had a point, a reason
to make it seem more the comic bookbut this is just look what my computer will do... WHOO-HOO!! rad.
if there was a reason to have it all in this filter it MIGHT be cool but without a GOOD reason its just stoopid.

what filter did they use? in AE?
- Sven_sk0
stoopid.
- digitalswarm0
The Waking Life DVD explains how they do it. It's done in their own software. Kind of like AE, but more hands on than any filter.

i want my 30 seconds back.
- chossy0
it would be a variation of the MEDIAN filter.
cheers. :)

I think they 'Photoshoped' it.

It's not a filter really. There's tons of hands on hand drawn shit there. Don't belittle it. And whats wrong with doing it that way for the sake of doing it that way? It's visually interesting. You haven't seen the movie yet. How could you say there's no reason for it. Actually, there's these commercials on tv now for some financial advisers that utilize this exact technique as people just talk about banking. now there's doing it for the sake of doing it. Clearly no need for it. but this movie will benefit from it.

Its a technique called digital rotoscoping, based on the original rotoscoping technique of hand painting live frames to animate it.
The movie looks awesome aside from one thing: KEANU REAVES. WHY do they have to put him in this shit. He is good at playing stoners, that's IT.
