Seems I'm running into dead ends down here. I've searched all of the usual places but not a whole lot going on.
I'm trying to make the jump to full time interactive work but not quite sure my book is up to "big agency" standards. Submitted to Macquarium, DNA, Ant Farm, etc with no response.
Really looking at this point for a hybrid slot. Bit of print. Bit of interactive.
Anyone in the area have any good leads?
Any would be appreciated.
thanks

ATL is a sad place when it comes to work.

It just so happens that there are several meet-and-greets going on around the city. Get some face time, be charming.
I might go to one but I'm not sure which yet.

Post some work.

My suggestion (I work at a smaller Atlanta Interactive Agency (50+ employees) is to do personal work that exploits your creativity a bit more. I see talent in your portfolio but also see why the agencies might have passed over your resume. I'm not sure what size of an agency you're looking for but I can forward your info along to our hiring manager if you like. We aren't currently hiring but thats not to say we won't be in a month.

Thanks push. I agree with you. The agencies I interviewed with, Creative Digital Group and IQ Interactive, both great shops are very forward thinking with rich media/video in Flash solutions. Something I haven't really had the opportunity to do but need to have in my portfolio to be considered.
I'm in the process of revitalizing my personal site. Treat it as a vehicle for the above. Wouldn't hurt to show off more skills in that area.
Who do you work for? And yes, I'm always up for a referral if you're willing to pass along my info. Unless you happen to work for either one of the agencies I mentioned above. I've already met with them.
Thanks,
bB

Sounds like you've hit all the major agencies in town. There are quite a few mid-size agencies that might be a good place to jump into.
As far as me I lead one of the creative teams at my agency. We aren't in your mentioned list. I'll forward your info along. Good luck...I know how tough it is here.

Thanks for you help. And yes, it can be very competitive. But that's what makes you better. :-)

I've got a few friends at Studio A. I can put in a good word for you.

hugelogo, I beg to differ from your response. There are plenty of web design job openings in atlanta. If you're a well versed flash designer/developer then skies the limit currently. Bucky, I have a feeling you have been to some of these following links but hopefully a few will be new and help you out a bit on the job search.
Work places I know:
http://www.maxmediadesign.com
Site has not been updated for over 2 years from what they told me but the work they are doing is qualityhttp://www.moxieinteractive.com
They will work you like a mad man but a great place to get a nice client list and work with a great creative dept. They are usually hiring. Some big boys who have recently opened up office over the past few years:

Thanks mightyj. Agreed on your last link. IQ is probably one of the best in the city at this point.
I'll look through and see what I can find.

Tribal has opened in the ATL. We are still a small crew, but are going to building soon as there have been some big accounts coming in.
I'll put up a post here when some positions open up.
