Is this possible?

I am not a domain/hosting specialist but I have a client who wants to put up a holding page for his company.
I was going to suggest that while he sorted his own host I can have the holding page on my domain and his URL will point to it on the back of my server for my site. BUT He didn't want his URL to change when people got to the page though.
How would I do this (without a frameset)?

what host do you use? and what domain registrar do you have?
it's called domain masking... you can forward it to a holder page on godaddy and no one will be the wiser....

not on godaddy...but using godaddy

His domain provider may be able to offer 'web forwarding' (/'redirect'), which should allow you to just enter the absolute path to your own site. you may even be offered 'URL Masking' which gives your users the illusion that the pages on your site are actually at your client's domain. Easily.co.uk offer this service and I've used it maaaany times..

tell them to stop being whiney bitches and sort the hosting out. There's no way (other than DNS or frames or Name Server) to do this... Tell 'em I said so dancer. They'll quiver in their boots they will....

well, find out what services his domain name provider offers, otherwise you could just swap the nameservers a couple of times - but, obviously, that'll mean the domain being awol for a couple of days at each end.

It will be better for rankings if you put up a holding page with a few keywords on there asap (and reg the domain for as long as possible)
