A company I applied for wants me to send, via a CD or online link, the following examples of my work:
1. Online advertising:
a. Any banner that is acquisition focusedb. Rich media i. Pointroll
ii. Eyeblaster
iii. iwonder2. Online demos such as “How To” or marketing/sales
Did anyone of you worked on this kind of projects, if yes, can you explain what they are.
Reply here or by email.
Thank you for your time.

sounds to me like internal project manager speak.
that's unfortunate for you...
it should tell you something about the company though. maybe they think their shit doesn't stink?Good luck.
Sorry I couldn't help.

Hey M -
It looks like the questions are around customer acquisition, rich-media software and instructional pieces.
'Acquisition focused' materials might be stuff for getting people to sign up to cell phone providers - or Netflix or something like that.
Rich Media stuff, I think is some of the interactive flash/movie based advertising stuff. Don't know for sure.
The last one seems fairly clear - looking for clear communications of instructions, messaging, or value propositions...
If you present your work, aserting that you're not a marketer - but a visual designer, and you work 'well' with marketing & sales folks - you might get around their direct questions here.
Good luck.

rich media is just flash

rich media can be flash, ajax, flex, shockwave(cough) etc - any platform/website with high levels of interactivity and features

It's like the old adage, if you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it.

"...I'll have an Eyeblaster on the rocks... and can I get an iwonder for the lady?"
- UndoUndo0
LOL @ thismanslife
sounds extremely corporate doesnt it
- krust0
dunno if that helps...
when we design flash or gif banners the client takes them and uses Eyeblaster to upload them.although this could be completely unrelated!
- uberdesigner0
eyeblasters are just flash, same with the others. marketing people call them differently beacause they're services sold under different names. the hardest parts are using proper tags and following brand specs.

a. Any banner that is acquisition focused

Wow thanks a lot everyone,
I did some research this weekend and found out that
Rich media ads (all flash) - floaters, expandables...
These guys have a self-explain page on various format.

I wouldn't even bother with a company that expects you to know what those are. Probably buncha wankers.
