Oh my god.
I thought I had lost my wristwatch I got from my parents when I graduated. I looked everywhere but didn't find it, and then over the past few weeks accepted that it was gone even though it hurt like hell, since it holds an insane amount of sentimental value to me and I've always been super careful with it.
And this morning I spent a few hours driving back and forth between auctions, watch collectors and stores, trying to find that exact watch, buy it and act as if nothing happened (even though it would never be the same). Couldn't find one, supposedly it's super rare.
Anyway, I get home feeling really bummed. I throw the bag on the floor and accidentally hit the trash can, so it tips over making a mess on the floor. I sigh loudly and begin to put it back in the can. Wait - something shiny's in there!! THERE IT IS! I FUCKING FOUND IT!!! Holy shit, it must've fell off the desk and down in the trash. AND I WAS JUST ABOUT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH!!!
I've had my fair share of bad luck over the past few months. I guess it was my turn to have some of the good.
Thanks for listening. Just had to vent.

nice one, jox. :D
i know how sick it can make you feel to lose something like that.
i do it more often than any human should.

sucks, doesn't it para. i can't even describe the feeling when i found it. i should probably lock it up in a safe and use a watch that doesn't kill me if it gets lost.

I once left a leica camera on the nightbus... and was gutted when I got off the bus and realised as the bus went off into the night...
pissed off I started walking home, and didn't relise that the bus was near its end so turned around and came back the other way, and shot past me... so I missed it twice!
No happy ending there!

Good for you jox!
Do you believe the information about the watch's latest position was stored in your unconsciousness and only had to find a way to your conscious mind?
Or was it just pure luck?

jox that rules! (and btw did you ever go ahead w/ that large data-driven site/project?)
engage- that is so rough. i would be sick.

Freud might argue that you wanted to lose your watch. What does that say?
