In Flash. I had a handful of links built into my file. Some on the main stage and some buried in movie clips.
I basically had all of them pointing to our server. Example:
Performed a find and replace with find "www.oursite.com"
to replace with "www.clientsite.com"It found the instances, showed it changed. I saved and closed. But when I opened back up, some of the original links pointing to our site were still there.
Did I do something wrong? Or is there better way of doing this?
thanks,
bB

I dont think find and replace works through all mc's etc and only on the script you are looking at. so you might need to run it on very frame/mc that has code and where the URL appears

I don't use it at all. Too buggy. You need to go through the entire site and check if it has worked anyway so you're almost as well just doing it by hand.
For future you might want toi just set links that might change as a variable so you only need to change it in one place.

Good call skt. How would I do that? And can I just put the last half of the url?
Like:
overview.htmland not the entire url?
Would it be picked up when transferred over the their server?
thanks

var myLink = http://www.newstoday.com
getURL(myLink);
