Laptop with good screen?

Anyone has any advice on good laptops for print work?
I want a Windows version of the MacBook Pro.
(Would buy the MBP if it wasn't for CS2 not being ported to Universal yet.)

I have been using a intel iMac for about a month now and Photoshop runs pretty good on it.
So I wouldnt let that stop you from getting a macbook pro
yeah a Dual G5 is faster at photoshop BUT most of the smaller apps i use are UNIVERSAL and run much faster than on the G5.
it is kinda like you take 1 step backwards with photoshop
but 10 steps forward with everything else

I've heard from a few guys who got the Macbook Pro that it runs just as fast as their Powerbook having to have Photoshop open up another program first to run.
Think of how much faster it will be when Adobe upgrades to work. I'm buying one.

But what's the macbook screen like? I never saw a laptop screen that would show colors ok, how's this one?

the screen isi amazing!!!
all programs work very well, cs2 is slow at times, but iis fast all other times.i reconmend it!!! or wait until the other sizes are out.
either way it is a very fast solid machine with a video camera and remote control.

But can the screen display colors properly? As far as I see it, even vaios still fake colors.

i use a 20" flat apple display with my macbook and the colours are different....the mac book shows colours really solid, but the 20" is just so much bigger and nicer that i tend to forget the MBP and only use the larger one.
i suggest you try going to an apple certified dealer and see it for yourseff.

It's greyish on every laptop.

i keep looking at the background in the pic and the background of the website...
its like a camel/ taupe/ khaki lite tan colour....it almost has a pink shade in it.
it looks great on the macbook, but you would need t osee it for your self im sure to make a final decision.
is there anything from my end you need for this test?

Thanks, I was curious about the differences in colors between macbook and a 20" lcd.
As you said, I'll have to visit a mac dealer to see.
Still, I don't really need a mac, and I think of getting a nice small lightweight 14" laptop + a 20" apple/dell display

there was a Viao thing kicking about here for a while wich had a tremendous screen on it (17"), I'll be using it for the next month, may re-post in here next week if you're still interested

i am not sure about the colour keeping...but i will say i ahvent been able to match the colours of the 20"flat display to the macbook pro or vice versa...it also may because i am colour blind...but hey PORN looks great!!!!!

Sure, it would be nice to know which laptops have finally begun to show colors.
A friend just got a new dell 17" and while it's bright and glossy, still doesn't display colors right.I hate this glass-like trend, all it does is pretend to be a tube monitor and reflect light. Next thing they'll be selling is anti-blink layered ones.
