How to find an intersection point between two lines? Im used to the outline function from pathfinder, which worked fine in ill. 9, but in ill. 11 it just deletes everything
- GreedoLives0
not sure what you're asking, can you rephrase that?

Two plain lines, or curves, crossing each other. I'm trying to find the intersection point. In illy 9 the outline function returns 4 pieces of lines, in illy 11 it returns nothing
- GreedoLives0
oh, ok.
outline the lines first.
object>expand
then do it.
it only works with closed shapes.

dissapointed but grateful

turn on smart guides, cmnd-U and you'll get exact feedback where to add points.

or if you don't mind paths broken into sections, use the "Outline" command in Pathfinder (not the same as Greedo's outline suggestion).

(Apr 4 06, 14:50)ha! just realized that was your OG question.
> Outline is in my Pathfinder window.. look again; 2nd row and 2nd from right.

works on unclosed lines for me... ?
- goldgrube0
what version are u using
- horton0
yeah i'm on CS2/ v12.. but i find it hard to believe they would change that feature inbetween v9 and 11.
i dunno.

Allright, it seems I have this problem only when editing ill.9 files which have been converted to ill.11.
That is, the outline command works perfectly when working with new files in ill.11

I solved my problem by clearing appearance of the objects and giving them new values.
Could be a bug?
