I would never set my hands on a $400 laser printer or a $4000 for that matter..

with those sorts of printers, it seems like a great deal, but they get you with the toner. you will pay more than the price of the printer to fill it with toner.

I picked up this printer for my home office 6 months ago. Model 2430 DL. After 6 months here is my review:
PROS:
1) Color quality, especially photos is great.
2.) Line art/type is very good, but you have to specify line art each time in the print prefs to get good results.
3.) Consumables. Yes a new set of toner is half the cost of the unit...but have your priced replacing 6-color inkjets lately?...the initial toner set is a half set (mening they only fill em up partially), and mine is still reading about 50% full.CONS:
1.) The partial toner set mentioned abvove.
2.) Sometines has trouble feeding a 80 lb cover stock (I print alot on odd weight paper) and registers a jam..but it's just a mis feed and I have to open the cover to reset.
3.) Its a make a bit of a racket during printing..but since its a laser , that olny lasts for 10 seconds.
4.) Only 8.5 x 11"
5.) My printer driver only installs en Espanol. Si, Seleccione por favor el papel del gruso, por favor...Personally, I think it is great for quick color printing, home photos, flyers, biz crads, client comps, etc... I would buy it again if I had the cahnce to do it ove. I paid 349.00 + 200 US for extra toner (that I have yet to even open 6 months later)
Its USB 2 so I'm sure there is a Mac driver for it....I just wonder what language that will be in...
