Photoshop colour

Hi people,
I am mocking up my site in photoshop. I am currently exporting a few slices. Now, I have exported one slice, I have saved it in the PNG 24 format, in the Save for Web preview box the colours look fine, however, when viewing them online, the colour looks washed out and not as deep.
Is this a problem with my colour settings, or do I need to simply use darker colours to compensate for the loss in colour when saving for the web?

workspace settings should be
Adobe RGB(1998)Mode should be RGBcolor
save for web -> mode: Convert to profile, select sRGB. preserve embedded color profile.

you can modify colors in the safe for web window. just look at the color swatches in the lower right corner... replace the colors that are f*cked.

Are you sure it's not a CMYK image you're slicing up or something?
Just a thought.
