I'm sorry to hear that. :o
is everyone brain fried on this late friday afternoon? no UI thoughts on the site?

i love wikipedia, but it could definitely look a little better.
the way graphics are incorporated are painful.

another researchy question...why do you think it has been so successful? Most sites, wiki or not, who depend upon user content/editing have failed. How has wikipedia avoided this fate?
- version30
wiki avoids it by having moderators who live for the site

have there been other open source encyclopedias?
i think open source is just a huge (online) movement, the feeling that everything should be free and widely available.

at first i disliked it on account on the lack of authorship (trust) and the fact that not everything is worth registry. It also can promote very bad ideas but that's the risk of a liberal thing, which i accept.
But its pretty accurate on the subjects i like to get myself into, and as I use it more and more often I find the interface friendly: especially the way related subjects are brought to you.

it will be great when it becomes a large encyclopedia mixed with a mix of journalism. would need a shit load of editors.

discipler used to call it 'wickedpedia' in his intelligent design debates.

i think its a good research start, but not at all the final word
