I had a friend of a friend work for his publishing company.
He said the guy was such a minimalist. Mattress on the floor, very few pieces of furniture, very few articles of clothing. What does he do with all his money? He has to have a butt load of cash from all his music, movie parts and GAP ads.- i was just reading this and I was like "i knew a friend of a friend too" damn, then I realize that's my old NT namefooler

...his early flag, rollins band, and spoken word are incredible for one reason, they're the art of living.
the guy really doesnt have alot of talent, but makes up for it with a brutal work ethic. ...everyone can learn from that.
and if you have heard stories of crazy paul, the dc lab, or the la riots, you dont know what the fuck your taking about spoken word wise.

"Life's a fleeting blast, ride the fucking wild."
I was 22 then and this line stays with me to wake up my conscience whenever I am about to bend too much.It was great to see him at 45, sending out his message with the same passion.

i was seeing him in berne. it was about 0 degrees in that house and he was standing there sweating and yelling, only in his shorts. then he took the towel, cleaned up the sweat on the ground and then he wrang it out and drank his ow sweat!

Whenever I start thinking of selling out or that I'm burning out I open Rollins' "Get in the Van" about his days of touring with Black Flag, and I rediscover what integrity and doing something because you're passionate really demands..and I smile and have the ability to say "Fuck no" to the things that compromise me and "Fuck yeah" to the things that I know in my heart I should be doing..
