mc_1.mc_2.gotoAndStop(5);
i'm trying to target a movieclip 2 levels deep from the mail timeline and stop at frame 5.
i'm sure thats how u do it, just isnt working!

is the mc that's 5 levels deep sitting on the first frame of it's own timeline? or is it down the timeline a ways

no it's about 10 frames along.

that's why. there's nothing to target unless the clip you're targeting is on the timeline at that moment you're targeting it.

but it's stopped at that frame by the time i'm targetting it.

try sticking your gotoAndStop command in the frame right above the target MC when it loads.

try _root.mc_1.mc_2.gotoAndStop(5); also, you had a space between the o and the p in stop.
