honestly, where is the wrong, where does the communication fails?
I have to work with developers , maybe most of you do too, maybe some of you are developers, and I make an effort to understand the language, the way of working and so on, developers dont do that towards design, not the way I see it. Does anyone here knows the best way to communicate process of working "design" to a developer, where it starts and where it stops. It´s all very cinic, but they seem to understand they deal with databases and we deal with the fucking FONTS, COLORS SHAPES, AND LAYOUT...KEEP AWAY FROM MY FUCKING DESIGN STUPID SQUARE FUCK!
ufff much better now!
(please, don´t get offended, some of this guys are my good friends) but at work they piss me off

developers work late and love it.
designers work late and hate it.

the easiest way i've found is meet with them. Find out what items they "need" on the webpage for their database content. Then I build the page or site all the way out, but without anything being dynamic. Hand over to the developer to make it functional with the database.
Kick back and wait for the random developer to scream in the background. Good times, oh yes.
*Also helps that I've learned to do basic lvl development myself.

honestly, where negotiation may be the more 'modern' 'reasonable' way to solve your differences with these people, we all know the threat of physical violence is all they really understand first, last and everytime.
Some of you may hate me, but I always get the job done.

the problem is even uderstand what dev´pers are on about, or make your self clear on how to syncro work...it´s too complicated, of course what really matter is what they do, who cares about design, it´s only an interface so the user knows how to navigate trough information. sad sad sad

well, i certainly think that a divisive attitude is the first step towards a better product.

i prefer developers to consultants. they are less intrigant and don't bulshit us.

developers need to get their hole more.

not saying you are...
but...
right now i work as both, and the best way to go about it is to just make sure you are a bit humble in understanding, and not coming off as arrogant. Most developers would love to help designers understand because it helps them, but they also don't want to hear how they should be doing their job if the designer doesn't fully understand.

haha! this is funny. that is all

doing both I understand what your talking about. But, i've had to talk with some designers on well, the design. Some designs just don't work well with dB driven sites. So I try to explain that if we move this image/header whatever over here > it will work great. If the designer can design for the function then all is great. Because sometimes things just don't work well together. Find the happy medium!
