Do you guys have a standard message, or standard message structure to leave on a person's answering machine?
I find it hard to leave a powerful message without having a fucking hour's worth of "uhhh" "ummm", "great" and "yeah"
Fuck i feel like Lumbergh when I get off the phone.
****
Has anyone ever screwed one up really really bad?

I left a 10 minute message on my mothers answering machine once of me swearing my head off about how my fucking bastard cunting phone wasn't working. I was pished, it was new year and I hadn't heard the machine come on.
She wasn't pleased.

Oh god, I'm the worst. I can barely have normal conversations when I talk to people one-on-one, so when I'm leaving a message it's almost as worse. Sometimes I usually leave some information out, and then curse myself after I get off the phone.
So I would also like to know more info about this.

I used to just ramble on on the phone (surprised?) but decided to sharpen up and now its well known I basicly sound like a nazi I'm so abrupt and to the point...

abrupt messages are nice.
say why you are calling, and if they should call you back and how. thats all they need to know.the last thing i want to do when checking voicemails is have to listen to someone babbling.

"awright bawsac.
pub.
9 o'clock.
bye"

leave your phone number at beginning and end of message so they don't have to repeat the whole thing

Actually, it's even worse when the other answering machine only has about 6 seconds to let you speak, so your message is cut off at the most nonsensical part.
