anyone have any experiences working for them, is it a good company to work for?

workd for an agency they own. was great. never directly worked for Y&R though..... yet.

that's a big company, usually you would be working for a sub company owned by them.
- rasko40
aaah yes hehe

yes. both through a company they "own". all owned by wpp. and work for Y&R brands - a group of Y&R agencies:
http://www.yrbrands.comthey had a solid education/inspiration program - at least their NY office had some good conferences/workshops.
overall though, i'd say the Y&R network is kind of becoming a big sweat shop servicing big list clients with all kinds of agencies. riding on the coat tails of their previous success.
i do think there are pockets of really talented individuals and shops. also, really cool perks.
just my 2 cents.
- haha, big sweatshop, yup!!moldero
- not really, I have been in the nyc office for while and its great hours...pistollero

i worked for y&r frisco, big fat company, it's a great company to hide in, lot's of process, old school mentality, very slow, long lunches, leather sofas, not bad for a while, i reccomend working for a big conglomerate once in your life.

i worked on a logo project for them where they paid us to pitch then didnt give us the job but the final logo they went with was identical to what we pitched. There was nothing we could do, they are huge and we were little. Bummer.

I worked there for a few years (sf interactive), worked there long enough to turn me off to big companies. way too much process and politics to get any great work done. but kick ass benefits though. it all depends what you want. reliable 9-5? great, exciting career in design and animation? not happening.

they are good to work for.

It's a good place that is on it's way to turn around from a couple of bad years - I think it will be a come back story, no doubt.

What pistollero said. I've worked for them and they're ok. Can pay pretty well, though sometimes slow, demanding and unpredictable. If you're a hard worker and good at verbal follow-through, they're pretty good.

Yeah, I worked for Y&R Chicago, very cool enviornment, good pay, shit work, so it depends what you are looking for... I prefer to get paid less and make good work.
- in 20 years none of it will make a difference either unless Julian Schnabel is yr unclecapsize
- Agreed.Ampersanderson
