how to get rid of overprint in a illustrator cs2 file? there is overprint for various objects, what actually dont need overprint. but when i select all objects and take off overprint in attributes window, it does not help. i have to ungroup everything and take overprint off separately... is this some bug or am i missing something?

To simulate or discard overprinting
In most cases, only separation devices support overprinting. When you print to a composite, or when your artwork contains overprinted objects that interact with transparency objects, you choose to simulate or discard overprinting.
Choose File > Print.
Select Advanced on the left side of the Print dialog box.
Select Simulate or Discard from the Overprints menu.

thanks,
but i have to forward ai files, not pdf-s, maybe just tell to others to discard overprint when they are doing print files?

I guess.
You know I just made a new file and I am not experiencing the behavior you are.

then it could be some bug. these files have been imported to illustrator cs from freehand 8, and then to illustrator cs2...
so...
:(

pain in the ass but because it was set up in FH you probably need to ungroup every grouped element in the file and then select all and uncheck overprint.
