yes self props, or the act of giving yourself credit on a finished design project, ie. "designed by..." in the small print of a catalogue.
yay or gay?
tacky and unprofessional, or smart business thinking.. ?
and at what point is a client too big for this to be acceptable?
i used to do it but starting to think it looks a little amateur.

depends on what the job is. if its a freelance gig, i don't see why not. helps create an identity for yourself.
but, if it is stipulated beforehand that it would be frowned upon, then don't do it.

depends on if you gave a deal or not.
if i do work for less i add my name.
if they are friends its also ok.

we do it on the websites we do at work. right from pitch visuals we'll have a "site by ..." on there. if the client questions it then it comes off. if not, then it stays.
a lot of our clients come from seeing that we've done other websites. so in business terms its a good policy.
its always right at the foot of the page in the smallest text.

yeah see i can't think of any projects i've seen for companies bigger than "small business" that have a credit line.. ?
print and web seems to be different again.. appears to be more acceptable on websites i think.
