how many forms of energie can you think of? having an ego, doesn´t always mean you that you have to think that everyone else is shit....

if you mean graphic design, then it's a combination of ego and pride. It starts off in childhood when you were 'good at drawing' but then ego got in the way and you realised you actually wanted to make money rather than become an artist (but who also have big egos), so you become a designer, cue lots of 'pat on the back' and self congratulatory events and the fact that the job itself is completely hollow – it's about making things look pretty to sell products. end of. Then pride steps in and you get to like seeing your good work 'out there' and then ego comes back and you join up to Newstoday so you can link every fucker to your shiny new work, because your ego needs people to do that.
If nobody had an ego, why are the most bitchy, gossipy, two faced people I've ever met all involved in the design industry?

Perhaps not an ego issue, but I've always had problems with these ubertrendy people.
Went on an interview at Saatchi&Saatchi once. For the love of god...40-50 year old "creatives", silver and bling on their sweaters, most likely grey hair colored blond, sunglasses indoors...
Lord of advertising, god, Buddha, whomevers listening...I'd like to stay young at heart forever but if you ever catch me like that, not gracefully aging but defying the physical signs of age...shoot me down.

energetic? wtf are you talking about? every designer I have ever known was a miserable and depressed...
