check if imap is installed on the server. do a phpinfo (); on the server. It seems to be installed on mt.
- UndoUndo0
have you used it to connect at all?
- cosmo0
Nope, I haven't tried myself.

random googling:
http://www.essi.fr/~buffa/cours/…why not just use IMAP mail?
- UndoUndo0
thanks for the link ribit, I've seen tht tech notyes on how to use the function but I'm looking for some debugging info.
anyone else have experience of this function on MT?
- Rickbass0
Yeah - I used it to build a system to collect mailing list bounces... what are you looking to do?
- UndoUndo0
just connecting to the mailbox and redirecting mail, the function is throwing errors on MT when connecting like this:
$mbox = imap_open ("{mail.mydomain.com:110/pop3}IN... "user_id", "password") or die ("Failed with error: ".imap_last_error());
can you help?
- Rickbass0
I never tried connecting to an external mailbox, but remember having to put the /notls parameter on the end of the mailbox address:
e.g.
127.0.0.1:110/pop3/notls
Try that...
- Rickbass0
There shouldn't be a space in 'notls' by the way.
- UndoUndo0
thanks Rick, what is the 'notls' parameter saying?
- UndoUndo0
its cool i see it
- do not do start-TLS to encrypt the session, even with servers that support it
