Not sure if it's been mentioned but I've just been reading through the new Creative Review and there's an artilce on blogs.
NT is listed as one of the design blogs, it has this to say:
"Maintained by the mysterious Quorporation Broadcasting Network (QBN), Newstoday was founded by designers Folkert Gorter and Jason Kristofer. It has become one of the best-attended design community sites, albeit with a US bias. Boasting a select editorial board (that includes designers such as Wig-01, Michael C Place, Presstube, Vasava and one9ine), the site welcomes public postings (or broadcasts) and also maintains a vibrant forum on the front page. All manner of design-reated topics are discussed, as well as the hot-ness or otherwise of various female actors."

yeah, I caught that. First thing was I never considered this a blog, or for that matter a few of the other sites listed. It seems they have lumped community based sites together with blogs which is a little bit of a stretch.
Also in the article he comments on how a lot of threads you see on community sites start in traditional media. Which is fair enough but there was no reference to magazines taking content from online sources. It's a two way street and my perception is more stuff flows from forums like this into tradditional media than say from Creative Review to here.

A little off topic but I'm really bored with mags like Creative Review showing designers and their studios. I would rather see their work.

I struggle to see the role of such publications in this day and age.
If you want to see examples of work good or bad, there's plenty online and I like to be able to make up my own mind as to whether it's good or bad.
As a resource it's pretty lame too.
I pick it up in the WHSmiths, have a quick nosey and put it back on the shelf.
It's tired, there's loads better (non design) magz on the market that I'd rather read. Also, the quality of the sunday suppliments in the UK are top.
You'd be as well spending a fiver on a sunday... it's the only time I get to read, oh, and when I'm on the throne!
