I have a potential client that wants a small brochure website; actually all she said she wants is a blog. How do I go about setting up a blog for someone else? I mean, wouldn't that just be easier for her to sign up and get a blogger/wordpress/ account?
If I decide to design & build her a site from scratch, how easy would it be for someone that knows nothing about HTML to edit the site? Can I incorporate blog software into an HTML site?
Sorry for so many questions.

Blog = WYSIWYG editor
website = higher maintainance
but over all, if they want to customize a blog, it costs more cause u need php etc etc using wordpress harder to config in the beginning

Hey here is a site I built off of blogging software and its free.

my website http://scarabin.net is made up of six different movabletype "blogs"

I've used Wordpress recently and it's a piece of piss really. If you have half decent knowledge of CSS/XHTML you can just totally cutomise it anyway you want. I would think it would be easier to customise a Wordpress template then add it into an existing website....

Bukka, tell us more. what blogging software did you use?

i agree with bukka, Nucleus is a cool piece of kit. Totally easy to use and a good support system if you need it.
I use on a few of my sites as well.

ok, so you are saying to run with it?Build a HTML site and incorporate a blog into it so she can edit? Does this require me to purchase the blog software?

Is there another link to nucleus? looks like someone didn't pay their bill...not very encouraging.

Wordpress is free, download the php files, play about with the css, and you got yourself a fully customised blog for nowt.

don't build and try to integrate wordpress (or other).
like has been suggested, it is much easier to take a wordpress template and modify that. it will save you tons of time.

there's an even easier way to do it...
get a hosting account at dreamhost, register the domain name, and use the one-click install at the host to install the blogging software. then you can customize that once it's already installed.
EZ PZ.

you can program it within vanilla or moveable type and its essentially using blogger within your constraints.
